Warehouse operators and third-party logistic firms are expanding
their presence in east and northeast India after major brands and
e-commerce companies witnessed a surge in demand in the
region during the Covid-19 pandemic, forcing the operators to
fast track last mile delivery in the region.

Reliance Retail invested $200 million, or around Rs 1,488 crore in quick
commerce platform, Dunzo. Reliance also entered into a partnership with
Dunzo through which the latter will enable hyperlocal logistics for the
retail stores operated by Reliance Retail.

Plug-and-play logistics firm QuickShift revealed it has launched its
second fulfilment centre in Bengaluru to cater to the surging demand,
owing to the rapid growth in online transactions across marketplaces
and brand portals.
